Highlights from the 2026 Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® Annual Meeting
|
Over 250 REALTOR® members and guests joined Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® Association for the 2026 Annual Meeting at Springfield Country Club last Wednesday.
Best-selling author and speaker Steve McClatchy delivered his keynote on Leading Relationships.
Through relatable story-telling, humor and engaging delivery, Steve delivered a compelling and inspiring keynote that offered meaningful insights into building trust, strengthening professional relationships and becoming a more effective leader.
He emphasized that strong professional relationships begin with taking the initiative to build trust, communicate openly, and put others’ needs first. By honoring commitments, recognizing individual strengths, providing constructive feedback, and understanding what motivates others, professionals can strengthen collaboration, improve engagement, and foster more productive business relationships. Select attendees walked away with an autographed copy of Steve McClatchy's book that accompanied his keynote.
During the Business Meeting, hosted by Chairman of the Board, David Ashe, Tri-County Suburban celebrated exceptional members including: Todd Umbenhauer who received the honor of 2026 PAR Lifetime Achievement Award, Eileen Campbell who achieved the honor of REALTOR® Emeritus, an honor extended to dedicated REALTORS® who have held Association membership for 40+ years.
The 2026 graduating class of the Leadership Development Program was also recognized. Eleven REALTORS® and two Affiliates completed this year's program, designed to provide members with education and training to enhance and develop their leadership skills.
Finally, Tri-County honored the winners of the 2026 "Making a Difference" Community Service Awards. REALTOR® Abby Anderson was awarded the grand prize, a $10,000 grant, to her work with Salvation of Sorrows. Abby received a jumbo check on stage and was met with a standing ovation for her experiences. Additional honorees include, 2nd place winner ($4,000) Debbie McCabe for her work with Covenant House, and 3rd place winner ($3,000) Linda Walters for her work with Surrey Services for Seniors. Honorable mentions
were also recognized in Mary Beth Driscoll on behalf of Willow Grove Baptist Church Food Pantry, Donna Godfrey on behalf of Spring-Ford Chamber of Commerce & Spring-Ford Rotary Adopt a Family Program, and Deborah Spence on behalf of Level Flat Association.
Thank you to our attendees, our Affiliate sponsors, and members of leadership who
helped make this event our largest of the year, and a joy to attend.

FOREWARN Introduces Community Alerts, Activating a Nationwide Agent Network as a Real-Time Safety Resource
|
Powered by 443,000+ FOREWARN users and 660+ REALTOR® associations and MLSs throughout the U.S., the new capability enables agents to instantly warn one another about concerning interactions.
Real estate professionals routinely meet strangers, often alone, at vacant properties. Identity verification and criminal record checks reveal critical information, but not every potential threat presents such risk flags. Conversations that don't add up or encounters that feel threatening or uncomfortable can live outside of underlying identity data. Until now, that awareness of potential danger often went no further than the agent who noticed it.
Community Alerts gives agents a way to look out for each other. When searching a phone number, agents can view safety and fraud-related caution alerts from fellow agents’ firsthand experiences, helping them take precautions and better prepare for in-person engagements.
Community Alerts leverages FOREWARN's expansive network to surface warnings and strengthen safety across the industry. A safety signal built on shared experience is only as strong as the network behind it, and FOREWARN's powerful and growing user base makes this capability possible in a way that smaller or newer solutions cannot match.
With Community Alerts, an agent who has an interaction that elicits concern, whether by phone or in person, can tag the associated phone number to alert the community. When a flagged number contacts another FOREWARN member, the caution alert appears, giving them the benefit of a peer's real-world experience before they walk through the door.
FOREWARN is continually expanding its safety capabilities in support of our common mission of agent safety.

SRA: SB 838, A Top REALTOR Priority, Signed Into Law
|
|
| |
|
One of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors’ (PAR) key legislative priorities was signed into law by Gov. Josh Shapiro on Oct. 22, after passing both the Pennsylvania House and Senate unanimously. Senate Bill 838 was a priority for PAR during the legislative session. It amends the Private Licensed Schools Act to clarify that real estate and appraiser schools are exempt from the act. SB 838 ensures that these schools are not subject to duplicative regulation and fees within the commonwealth, as they are already regulated by the Department of State. SB 838 was specifically advocated for by Realtors during PAR’s annual Realtor Day on the Hill event in June. Read more at PAR JustListed.
