Crystal River Restoration Project |
The Crystal River Restoration Project is gearing up to resume work this spring. Remaining work includes the interpretive signage design and installation, native plantings and temporary irrigation work. Signage is being designed and will be installed this fall. The team has deferred planting and irrigation work to this spring to give the plants the best opportunity to successfully establish.
Homeowners can expect work to take place from March 18 – April 12.
*Please note the park will be closed as portions of the work is initiated. No major traffic disruptions are anticipated.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) uses a variety of products and techniques to remove snow, slush, and ice on our state roadways in winter. Products used include sand, and a sand/salt mixture. They also use liquid anti-icers and de-icers, which have reduced the amount of sand used for winter road treatment by up to 50%, according to CDOT. This results in greatly reduced levels of particulate matter and much cleaner air. Liquid anti-icers and de-icers have less negative impact on highway bridge decks, trees and vegetation, and water supply than any other method of winter road treatment utilized in the past. As with any form of winter road treatment including sand or salt, liquid anti-icer and de-icer residue should be removed from vehicles with soap and water following winter weather storms. But, unlike sand/salt mixtures, the liquids will not damage your car's paint job or windshield. So when you see the big trucks spraying these liquids, it's a good thing.
