Returning to Practice With Non-Essential Procedures
| |
When Executive Order 25 expired on April 30, the prohibition on non-essential medical procedures expired with it. Providers can now perform those procedures. However, it is paramount that a physician or medical practice responsibly evaluates their preparedness to reopen and set up proper safe operations procedures. If your practice cannot do this, you should remain closed or risk licensure action. Below, you will find links for two guidance documents. Please take these guidelines under advisement in tandem with the CDC guidelines; they should not stand alone.

Membership dues are usually due on March 31. In consideration of our members’ efforts to fight the COVID-19 virus, we are extending all memberships through June 30 to allow your practice time to reopen and stabilize. If you have any questions about your 2020 membership or if you would like to request a new invoice, please email nringenberg@nashvillemedicine.org.

| HERO Trials Seek Volunteers in TN | |
|
The Healthcare Worker Exposure Response & Outcomes (HERO) Registry is a national clinical research community seeking volunteer clinicians and medical workers to share their experiences serving on the front lines battling COVID-19. HERO-HCQ is a randomized clinical trial of approximately 15,000 HERO Registry participants.
Two sites in the Nashville area -- Vanderbilt University and Clinical Trials Center of Middle Tennessee on the Williamson Medical Center campus -- will coordinate with 40 sites nationwide.
Healthcare workers affiliated with the sites or other community sites such as nursing homes, EMS and assisted living centers may be eligible to enroll. Volunteers will have opportunities to participate in trials such as the hydroxychloroquine prevention trial, if interested, and may elect to participate on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in enrolling, contact one of the following organizations.
