A lecturer and researcher on neuroendocrine tumors as well as a physician, Dr. Kotiah helps patients fully understand their diagnosis and hosts quarterly meetings for patients and their families to present information about NETs and how to cope with a neuroendocrine diagnosis. She participates in various clinical trials and is actively involved in research.
In addition to NETs, Dr. Kotiah works with patients to diagnose, evaluate and treat a variety of cancers and blood diseases including blood cancers (such as multiple myeloma), breast cancer, colon and rectal cancer, lung cancer, and lymphoma. In particular, she has specialized training and certification in performing bone marrow biopsies and administering intrathecal chemotherapy.
Dr. Kotiah, who is fluent in both French and Creole, has been recognized with a “Patients' Choice Award.” The award is presented on behalf of patient feedback and in recognition of Dr. Kotiah’s compassionate care and bedside manner.
She also has been named a "Top Doctor" in Medical Oncology by Baltimore magazine.
