When I think of this spring semester, the word that comes to mind is community. It felt like God was bringing friends together to create lifelong memories. To illustrate, there was this one time when the guys’ campaigners met at Chick-fil-A before school and miraculously made it to their classes right on time. The scramble to find rides for students coming to Creator’s art nights. Another memorable experience was when we went to Joe’s Italian Ice, and the line was so long that it wrapped around the building.
To some, these moments might be mundane, but for us, they are everything. Your support enables us to shape a narrative of life for students, emphasizing community and a shared focus on Christ.

After years of effort, the La Serna Young Life club is now flourishing and stable. Campus ministry is a unique phenomenon. In high schools, our role in campus clubs is solely supportive as students lead them. The challenge in campus ministry lies in finding committed leaders who can take ownership of the club and remain faithful throughout the year. We are thankful for our faithful student leader this past year! One exciting highlight was seeing Sarah Twisselman kick off a Monday Bible Study during lunch with an average of 7 students! As we transition into next year, we’re thrilled to have Danica, Bella, and David as our student leaders.

Our courageous leader, Nailah Imara, successfully created and implemented a comprehensive curriculum for Creator’s Young Life during the spring semester. Students could meet and work with creative professionals from diverse art forms every other Thursday, resulting in creating a new art piece each week. Each week, Nailah had limited spots, and it was exciting to see the students eagerly reserving their spot. Join us this Saturday to see the fruits of their labor at our art show, The Creator’s Eye.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who joined us in supporting our Young Life students for their summer camp trip to Woodleaf! We had an amazing time testing our intelligence and competing for the chance to win a trip to the Magic Castle with Josh Ng, the Hong Kong Sensation! Your efforts resulted in a grand total of $22,604.22 raised! We exceeded our $20,000 goal - thank you! Your generosity has made it possible for sixteen students and four leaders to attend camp. Congratulations to the winning team, the Know-it-Alls. We are extremely grateful to Rudy and Monica Varela Lopez for their hospitality in hosting the Trivia Night. We look forward to seeing all of you next year!
