Here are some updates on NATAB work underway: |
-
NATAB reviews applications for Assistant Trainers in the region served by NATAB, and works with the other international Training Accreditation Boards to review applications for Trainer Candidate, and for Trainer.Ā Ā
- NATAB also reviews applications for the accreditation of FeldenkraisĀ® training programs, in the region served by NATAB.Ā
-
NATAB is currently compiling the responses to the survey that was sent out about whether NATAB and the FGNA Board of Directors ought to develop a policy that would allow the option of ATMĀ® Teacher training programs. A public report will be published on the Guild website.Ā Ā
-
The changes to the International Training Accreditation Guidelines (TAGs) that were approved by the FGNA Board of Directors in the summer are now in place, and will apply for all new Feldenkrais professional training programs accredited by NATAB.
-
NATAB (and the FGNA Board of Directors, as the governing body of NATAB) will be participating in an international process to review and update the pathway to becoming a Trainer.Ā This follows out of a proposal that was brought forward by the German TAB (DTAB) at the 2024 IFF General Assembly, which was supported.Ā Ā
-
International work on this will likely begin in late 2024 or early 2025.Ā Ā
- As some preparation in advance, NATAB has been gathering some initial practical ideas from the educational community in the region served by NATAB (via two Zoom discussions, as well as through written responses) to bring to those discussions.Ā
-
The Governing Bodies of the four international Training Accreditation Boards (TABs) are working on updating the process for making changes to the international policies that the TABs work with. Ā

Kudos to the FGNA nominations and elections teams for a smooth election cycle. However, we are still in need of a few more members to help out on the 2025 NominatingĀ Committee and 2025 Conference Committee. If you are interested in contributing a few volunteer hours a month on a committee or on another FGNA project simply reach out to membership@feldenkraisguild.com.
āLifeās most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?ā ā Martin Luther King, Jr.
Secondly, the Board will be holding their āFace 2 Faceā meetings throughout November. This is an immersive 4 days of dialogue amongst the Board members, and our management team, and each of our committees. Together we review their portfolio for this past year, 2024, address their challenges,Ā bring into focus their goals for 2025, and offer a forum to present ideas and projects for the benefit our members and the overall vitality of the Guild. Your input is welcomed, please contact your Regional Representative or the CORR chairperson corrchair@gmail.com.
Lastly, the Policy Committee began review of six policies related to publications and communications in December 2023, over the past 10 months the committee consulted with the Journal editorial team and with Jane Johnston of the communications and website teams as they endeavored to update and revise the policies. Both FGNA policiesĀ E1.6.4.1 PublicationsĀ and E1.6.4. 6 Mailing List Policy and Rates wereĀ unanimously approved by the Board on October 28.
Sincerely,
Maxine Sidenfaden

In the October 13th CORR meeting, regional representatives greeted the new representative for the Northern California-Northern Nevada region, Kwan Wong.
CORR approved the third quarter report of its activities for the FGNA Board and discussed dates to meet with the Board in November. CORR also reviewed the role of CORR-Board Liaison. We heard about the successes of the workshop titled "Tailor-Made Lessons" and discussed ways to thank the teachers. There was a brief discussion about regional librariansā ideas about digitizing materials in the library, and we look forward to a full report.
CORR's priority for workshops will be in-person workshops (although some will need to be online/Zoom), and thus CORR plans to review the ways we can provide additional financial support for members to attend CORR-sponsored workshops. Other future plans include updating old procedural and policy documents.
