October 30, 2024
Tonight we will not have a Wednesday re:treat.
See you next week, November 6, for poppy seed chicken at 5:45 pm and then intergenerational table talk at 6:20. Reserve your Meal here.
Let's celebrate the hard work of the students, teachers and staff at East Flora Elementary and their "A" rating! Join us Friday, Nov. 1 for a field day celebration. We will meet at the church to carpool at 8:15 and we will be through with our shift by 11:30. We need volunteers to assist with face painting and many other activities offered for the students on this day. Please contact Haven if you are interested in volunteering.

All Saints' Day
This Sunday we remember a special day within the life of our faith. We celebrate All Saints' Day and remember those who have gone before. We give thanks for their life and witness and acknowledge that we continue to hold them in love. We will lift the names of those within our church family that we have lost since this time last year and light a candle to remind us that they are held within the light of Christ.  As we come forward for communion, all will have an opportunity to light a candle for a loved one they have lost if they feel so led. This is always a great space to remember, to celebrate, to continue to grieve, and to rest in the promise that we believe in a God who is with us in life, in death, in life beyond death. We hope you will join us for this meaningful Sunday.
Election Day Prayer Space
The worship center at Parkway Hills will be open from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm Tuesday, November 5 as we make our way to the polls. We invite you to come by any time that day and enjoy a quiet, reflective space to light a candle and lift a prayer. Guided prayers will be available as well as ways to leave a prayer of your own.

'Tis the season to be practicing for our Christmas worship services!

We'll continue to practice at 9:30 am in the Garden Room Sunday. Kids ages 3 through 5th grade are learning songs with our Music Director, David White, for the Children's Christmas service on Dec. 8 and to join the adults for the choir cantata on Dec. 15.
After our singing time, the children will move into age-appropriate Sunday School classes. We always need volunteers to aid with our kids ministry.

Adults, we need your help to make this another great semester! Use this link to volunteer with our youth ministry or contact Geoff for more info. Upcoming needs include:

Thanks to your generous tithes and offerings, we have a new awning covering our walkway. No more drip, drip, drip as we walk between buildings. Rain is due in later this week, so we'll really appreciate it.
PHUMC Outdoor Fall Activities!
We have had lovely weather this fall for our multiple fun days: Worship on the Lawn, 5th Quarter youth pancake dinner, Scarecrow Festival, Trick or Treat Trail and Chili Cook-off (led by the Peanuts Gang office staff, Drew Pruett, and Branden Henry). Each of the chili chefs picked a community mission to support, with the winner receiving $100 for that mission. Branden won the Chili Cook-off and chose Madison Young Life as his mission.
Thanks to many volunteers and your gifts, these events were made possible. Special thanks to Branden and Renee Henry for leading our outdoor worship music.
