Empowered by Design:Paulette DeJarnettePaulette DeJarnette, a senior Computer Science and Art major, exemplifies the transformative impact of the Wond'ry's programs. Joining the inaugural UX Studio Cohort Fall 2023, Paulette honed her user experience (UX) design skills and applied her knowledge to real-world challenges. Eager to explore design, innovation, and strategy, Paulette became an Innovation Strategy Intern the summer of 2024, practicing and observing design thinking in action. She also collaborated in developing graphics and a digital workbook prototype for the Vanderbilt Innovation Fellowship Program (VIF).Beyond the Wond'ry, Paulette put her UX expertise into practice, working with a Peabody College team on a National Science Foundation-funded project. Enhancing an AI-powered dialogic reading tool, Paulette is helping promote fundamental reading skills in disadvantaged populations. Paulette's journey exemplifies the transformative power of immersing students in design thinking and strategic problem-solving. The Wond'ry continues to support students like Paulette, cultivating a diverse community of innovators.
