Class of 2021 valedictorian and salutatorian announced

Madeline Owen of Columbus, Ohio, has been named valedictorian and Alexis Waldschmidt from Naperville, Illinois, was selected salutatorian of the 2021 graduating class. The 176th commencement takes place in-person May 23 in Notre Dame Stadium. (More...)

Notre Dame to resume study abroad programs in fall 2021

The University will move forward with plans to send students abroad for the fall 2021 semester. The decision came after considering various factors, including the continued rollout of the vaccines in the U.S. and increasingly abroad and the overall public health situations in the University’s program host countries. From invasive species on campus to energy for campus 

A group of volunteers celebrated Earth Week on campus by pulling weeds. And not just any weeds. The invasive garlic mustard plant exudes a chemical that inhibits other plants from growing, making it a threat to native plants. The Office of Sustainability led the effort. (More...)

Research

Participants needed for study on transmission of diseases

Faculty, staff and students have the opportunity to participate in a federally funded project about the social transmission and evasion of COVID-19. Participants will be asked to carry a small wireless device called a proximity beacon when on campus. The beacon, pictured above, can be attached to your keychain. You must have a smartphone to take part. (More...)
