November 2, 2022

Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

The Trick or Treat Trail was a spooktacular event for the families and friends of Parkway Hills UMC! There was plenty of candy to share with over 50 children in attendance with families from PHUMC and many visitors from the community. A huge thank you to all who made this event possible through candy donations, pots of chili, fall decorations, and volunteer efforts. We were able to share the leftover candy with East Flora Elementary School for its Halloween festivities.
Wednesday Night Re:Treat Tonight
Only two more Wednesday night fellowship dinners, and we have some special events planned. Reminder, meals begin at 5:45 followed by bunk bed building and activities for all ages from 6:20 to 7:15.
Nov. 2: Fire Pit Night! Bring a chair and join us for hot dogs, chips, conversation around the fire and maybe make a s'more. Adults, we will gather by the fire pit at 5:45 while our children and youth head inside for their own activities. This will give us time to eat and fellowship. Children will celebrate a "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" in the Garden Multipurpose Room while Bridge and Youth meet in the youth room for their own time apart. They will all head outside around 6:20 for the adults to aid them with food and s'mores.
November 9: We will close out our 10-week Retreat with another round of intergenerational table talk following the meal. If you haven't made a Wednesday night yet, this is a perfect one to come and get to know everyone from the youngest to the oldest among us. To make a reservation for Nov. 9, click here.
We are excited for our Children's Ministry to lead our Worship Service on December 4. We will practice music, handbells and speaking parts during the month of November, so parents please have your children in Sunday School starting at 9:30 a.m.
We are once again aiding MadCAAP in filling up Thanksgiving boxes to deliver to Madison County residents so that everyone may have a blessed Thanksgiving. We have committed to providing 1400 boxes of Mac & Cheese so next time you are at the store, pick up a box, or two or ten!  Bring your Mac & Cheese load to church by Sunday, November 13. We will use our November Communion Offering to supplement what we bring in. Help us provide a Happy Thanksgiving to our friends in Madison County.
We hope you will join us for our annual church family Thanksgiving meal and fellowship Sunday, November 20 at 5 pm.  The church will provide the turkey, dressing, drinks, and rolls. You bring a side and/or dessert to share.
Tonight, Youth and Bridge meet in the Youth Suite before joining the adults around the firepit.

Registration is now open for the 2023 Winter Retreat! This trip to Camp Wesley Pines on Jan 14-16 costs $165, including a minimum $50 deposit due by Dec 21. All youth are eligible to join us, including those who will be officially moving up into our ministry in January!

Adults, start your year with the PHUMC Youth Ministry! We anticipate a big turnout for the Winter Retreat, and we need your help as drivers and chaperones. Follow this link to get signed up or contact Geoff with any questions.
