The GPC250 Capital Campaign

Children hold signs to show that we raised $4,091,502 so far
Dear Partner in Ministry,
Yesterday we had a wonderful celebration of the official launch of the GPC 250 Capital Campaign, Let Us Rejoice: Honoring Our History, Building Our Future! It was indeed a morning of rejoicing. Before worship we were welcomed in with a bagpiper, and throughout the service, congregation members shared testimonials on what the capital campaign priorities mean to them.
After worship we celebrated the GPC way: with fellowship, delicious food, and fun! Posters in the Georgetown room illustrated the four pillars of the campaign: Mission, Worship, Fellowship, and Foundation. After an opening prayer, we watched a video depicting the faith and joy in action at GPC, and then the Sunday School children helped reveal that over the last few weeks, through quiet fundraising, we have already raised $4,091,502!
Now the capital campaign is shifting into full swing. Committee members and volunteers will be fanning out to have conversations about the fundraising campaign with GPC households. It will be a chance to learn more about the campaign and to prayerfully consider making a pledge. We hope to visit with every household and secure pledges by June, which may be paid out over three years, with the first payment to be made this year.
The campaign priorities were guided by significant input from all of us, and now is the time to joyfully and faithfully make our vision a reality. As we look forward to GPC’s 250th anniversary in 2030, we each have an opportunity to do what those who came before us did: give thanks for what we have inherited and help ensure our church remains a vibrant faith community for those who come after us.
Over the coming weeks, volunteers will be reaching out to congregation members to set up visits. If you are interested in scheduling a visit before you have been contacted, you may email 250@gtownpres.org. We look forward to connecting with as many households as possible!
