What are fellowships? When should I apply? Why should apply? During these introductory workshops, undergraduate and graduate students are invited to learn more about fellowships and ONIF's services. Attendees will also enjoy light appetizers and community building through a hands-on fellowship mapping activity.

OCTOBER 26, 3:00-5:00 PM, THE HILL (MALONE 4TH FLOOR)
Join LGBTSS, ONIF, and CPD for an afternoon of self-discovery. This event will begin with an hour-long values-driven workshop on storytelling and personal branding for fellowship, internship, and research applications and networking opportunities. Students will unmask their own stories and learn how to communicate authentically in written applications and when networking with professionals. The workshop will be followed by a networking mixer where students will practice sharing their stories with others. Students will leave with a values-driven personal statement and elevator pitch ready to be shared on their next application or networking experience. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 14Critical Language Scholarship and CLS Spark
CLS provides fully funded opportunities for students of all majors and academic levels to study languages and cultures essential to America's engagement with the world. Each summer, students spend eight to ten weeks overseas learning one of thirteen languages. Or, through CLS Spark, students study Arabic, Chinese, and Russian virtually at the beginning level. Deadline: November 1Chick-fil-A Community ScholarshipUndergrads and graduate students are invited to apply. Up to 12 $25,000 scholarships will be awarded based on academic success, community service, and financial need. Selected Scholars will also participate in a one-year mentoring and leadership development program. Applicants must be residents of the U.S. or Canada. Read more.

Deadline: November 12GirlSecurity Virtual National Security Fellowship
Girl Security pairs dedicated mentors with mentees 14-26 years of age. Mentees identify as a girl, woman, or gender minority, are based in the US or its territories, are interested in a career in the national security field, and are willing and able to commit to regular conversations with their assigned mentor(s). Deadline: November 15Ignite Fellowship
Ignite is a national tutoring corps designed to accelerate learning and foster belonging with students. Fellows lead small group, virtual learning experiences with students and work approximately 3-5 hours per week during regular K-12 school hours. Fellows receive a $1200 (pre-tax) award upon successful completion. Read more.

Deadline: November 20Diverse International Women of Color Study Abroad ScholarshipIntended to assist women of color who are exceptional in their studies and in need of financial assistance to study abroad. DIWC will award $500 scholarships to select women of color who have been accepted to an in-person Spring 2024 study abroad program. Read more.

The Kakehashi Project to Japan (March 11-19, 2024) is designed to promote people-to-people exchange between Japan and the US. Students selected must be from Asian American families or have some Asian ancestry. Travel and accommodations are included. Open to undergrad and graduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Read more.

Deadline: December 1Root-Tilden-Kern Public Interest Scholarships
Awarded to students who intend to pursue careers in public service immediately after graduation or the completion of one or more judicial clerkships. The program covers full tuition at NYU, without regard to financial need, for three years of law school for outstanding students who promise to pursue public service. Read more.

Each year, the foundation selects 50 women entrepreneurs for a yearlong program designed to grow their businesses through workshops, coaching sessions, network-building, and financial resources, including a $5,000 business education grant. UMich UndocuGrads is a student-led organization focusing on building community for undocumented graduate students at UMich. They are hosting their first annual preview event for undocumented persons applying to graduate school in fall 2023. This event is geared towards providing undocumented students with personalized grad school application support and getting them acquainted with graduate programs at UM-Ann Arbor. Participants will be flown out to our campus for a weekend visit and provided with meals, transportation, and lodging. Read attached flyer for more information.
