NOVEMBER VOLUNTEERING
What are you thankful for?
Hello Garbage to Garden-ers!
We hope you are faring well after last week's storm. We know that an unfortunate consequence of a power outage is spoiled food - feel free to come by the shop this weekend and grab and extra bucket to put out with yours next week if necessary.
This year we are grateful for YOU. We celebrated our 5th anniversary in August and we continue to be overwhelmed by the support of all of our participants, but especially those of you we've gotten to know so well through our volunteer program.
As always, sign up for one of the opportunities below and receive a free month of Garbage to Garden service, RSVP by email, and Phoebe will answer any questions you have. And remember, volunteer opportunities are first come, first serve!
November's volunteer orientation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 5:30pm at Garbage to Garden's Headquarters at 57 Industrial Way in Portland. Email Phoebe to RSVP.
With gratitude,
The Garbage to Garden Team
P.S. Reminder: When composting pumpkins, make sure to remove any metal candle bits & lights before you #chuckitinthebucket
P.P.S. We will not be operating on Thanksgiving, November 23th. Pick-ups Thanksgiving week will follow your town's trash & recycling schedule.

Bagging Compost!
Winter is coming and we are working hard to get ahead by squirreling away bagged compost to last us through the snowy months.
Volunteers can come anytime to help tie and stack bags of compost.  This is a medium-level physical activity that requires lifting, bending, and shoveling and usually takes 1-2 hours. Wear boots and bring layers!
