April 16 to April 22 is a week to recognize and celebrate volunteers nationally. Chippewa County 4-H is asking for help in recognizing its local 4-H volunteers. 4-H thrives off of the time and efforts its generous volunteers offer to the youth. Do you or someone you know have a 4-H volunteer that you would like to thank? Help celebrate our 4-H volunteers by tagging Chippewa County 4-H in your post on Facebook!

Chippewa County 4-H encourages submissions to be in by National Volunteer Week (April 16 - April 22) but is using this opportunity to kick off a year-long recognition program for 4-H volunteers. Give a 4-H volunteer a shout out any time throughout the year and they will be recognized through 4-H events and other volunteer celebrations. There is no limit to the number of volunteers you can thank.

Volunteer Appreciation Event!

Join us April 20th in the Chippewa County Courthouse, lower level room 003 from 7-8 PM to eat some delicious Main Street Cafe Pie. A special "Thank You" to our Volunteers to celebrate Volunteer Appreciation week.

Livestock Workshop Day

Save the date for a Livestock Workshop held at the Blaeser Farms in Chippewa Falls on Saturday, May 6 from 8:30 am to noon. Youth can register through May 1st on 4-H Online. 

Sessions include showmanship, washing, blowing, clipping, and fitting. All participants will rotate through each session. Please plan to bring a pen and something to write on. Jeans and boots are highly recommended. Each participant will be hands on with cattle.

YQCA will be offered to 4-H members on May 9 at 6 PM at the Chippewa County Courthouse in the lower level, room 003. Last chance in person training!

Youth need to take YQCA for for exhibition at local fairs this summer for the following species: Dairy, Beef, Swine, Sheep, Goats (both Dairy and Meat), Rabbits and Poultry.

Camp Registration is open in 4-H Online!

4-H Summer Camp is open for youth in grades K-7. Registration closes May 1st. Spaces are limited!

Youth in grades 3-7 participate in overnight camp at WFU Kamp Kenwood June 19-22. Youth sleep in cabins by gender and participate in different learning activities throughout the day, games, campfires and more. The program fee is $70 and includes all supplies, meals and camp t-shirt. Only 6 female spots left!

Youth in grades K-3 can spend the day of June 19 at camp for day camp. Much like overnight camp, youth participate in learning opportunities and camp favorites. The program fee is $15 for day camp. Youth in grades 2-3 can participate in a single night camping opportunity the night before day camp for an additional $15. This is a great introduction to overnight camping! Please note: 3rd graders must choose between either 1 night or 3 nights.

Save the Date: 5th-8th Grade Experience!

Join the 5th-8th grade experince in Oshkosh, WI from August 15th-17th! Registration will be available on 4-H Online starting June 1st. Registration fee is to be determined, thinking towards $175 (similar to last years fees).

Junior Snack Bar Manager Opportunity!

Manage and operate snack bar junior members. Give the customers a great food product and experience. Manage staff while teaching them good working habits/ethics and develop good people skills. Provide support to all stations wherever needed. Must be 16+. Click the button below to see more!

Job Description

STEM Day at UW-Madison

Registration is open until April 23rd in 4-H Online for STEM Day at UW-Madison. The day will include a tour of the new meat lab on campus, the BioTech Lab, and Babcock Dairy. The day will cost $15 and include lunch on campus.

The bus will depart the Chippewa County Courthouse at 7:30 am and return at 7:30 pm. Youth will be responsible for bringing money for a fast food dinner on the return trip.

Goat Project Meeting

The Dairy Goat Project will meet on Monday, April 24th at the Benson Farm. We will have a short business meeting followed by our educational topic, goat judging.
