Don't Forget to Review the 2019 Unclaimed Checks List
As I shared last month, my office may have money in your name. You can find out by viewing our unclaimed checks list at www.myorangeclerk.com. If you see your name on the list, by statute, you have until September 1, 2019 to claim the money.
The checks on the list were mailed, but never cashed. There are many reasons this occurs, including if the intended recipient moved away and did not leave a forwarding address, put the check away and forgot about it, and more.
Whether you’re an individual, business, or organization, make sure to view the unclaimed checks list. Our customers are a priority and I want them to receive the money that is rightfully theirs. That is why every year we go above and beyond to spread the word about our unclaimed checks list.

Clerks CARE Team Volunteers at Second Harvest Food Bank
A group of Clerk employees volunteered recently on a Saturday to support their Central Florida community at the Second Harvest Food Bank. The team was thrilled to assist in sorting through food donations, creating family care packages and arranging thousands of pounds of food. To see how many meals we helped prepare, watch this video!

Instructional Video of the Month: Divorce
The "Connect with the Clerk" video series was developed to educate and improve the customer experience. The series helps answer frequently asked questions with short, informative videos and provides step by step instructions for Clerk of Courts topics in English and Spanish. Each month, we will highlight one of these videos. This month's video explains what you need to know to file for a divorce.

August Star Performer
Congratulations to Carrie Coley, our Star Performer for the month of August. Carrie is a deputy clerk team lead in the Family division. Teammates say she is a strong and knowledgeable leader who shows a massive amount of empathy to both customers and coworkers.

"She has proven over and over that she knows how to really listen," said a colleague. "Sometimes that's all that's needed to defuse a tense situation. She makes sure every team member has what they need and if an extra hand is needed, she is there with two."
