Hossain’s Research Attracts Funding |
Dr. Zahid Hossain, professor of civil engineering and director of graduate programs, and his team have been regularly invited exhibitors at the Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association's yearly quality asphalt conference, where they showcase their research at A-State. Since 2022, AAPA has donated $57,000 to support travel, lab supplies, and other expenses associated with Hossain’s ongoing research, including the use of ground tire rubber and the performance of waste oils as rejuvenators.

Allen Appointed to Energy Board |
Andrea Allen, executive director, Delta Center for Economic Development, has been appointed to the board of Arkansas Advanced Energy as part of the organization’s move to include more leaders from higher education and economic development organizations. Allen has more than 25 years of experience in local, state and federal government roles, including as an appointee to the Arkansas Tobacco Settlement Commission and the Arkansas Rural Services Commission.

King, Gotte and Williams Present Research in Ireland
|
Dr. Jessie King, assistant professor of educational leadership, Dr. Eric Gotte, assistant professor of special education, and Dr. Rob Williams, associate professor of educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, recently presented at the Ireland International Conference on Education (IICE) in Dublin. Their presentation highlighted current research and innovative practices in special education, teacher preparation, and the integration of emerging technologies to support inclusive and equitable learning environments. Participation in the IICE conference provided an opportunity to engage with international scholars and practitioners while representing A-State on a global stage.

Miller is Honored with PROPS Award |
Belated congratulations to Laura Miller, director, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC), who was the September recipient of the PROPS (Proudly Recognizing our Pack Staff) Award, as determined by a Staff Senate subcommittee. More information about Miller and her work with ASBTDC clients and stakeholders, including entrepreneurs and small business owners, is available online. Staff members are selected from a pool of nominated candidates.

Adams is October PROPS Winner |
Morgan Adams, office manager in Marketing and Communications, received the PROPS (Proudly Recognizing our Pack Staff) Award during October. Adams has been part of the A-State staff since 2019, working in Human Resources and the College of Education and Behavioral Science dean’s office before moving to Marketing and Communications. Adams effectively uses his contacts, campus resources and can-do approach to support institutional goals. More details are online.
