Research News

From the associate dean of research
Promoting your published work. Did you know that CPH regularly posts new publications to EurekAlert, a news-release distribution platform from the American Association for the Advancement of Science as a resource for journalists and the public. Journalists frequently pick up stories from EurekAlert; sometimes using exactly what the College releases or reaching out for faculty interviews. Such media presence helps promote our research and has led to 2 large donations to faculty to support further research. The Office of Research compiles publications monthly, but let Mary Cunningham know as soon as you have a new article accepted for publication.
Social media can also be an important outlet, so remember to post your new findings once published, and repost those of your colleagues. Not sure how to get started? Here are some basic social media tips for researchers from LinkedIn and Harvard Business Review. Be sure to tag @MasonPublicHealth (@MasonPubHealth on X/Twitter) if you post about your research, so that we can share it! We are eager to share CPH research accomplishments with the broader community through media and social media, so please reach out if you have questions.
