In this holy season, as the slogan goes, Jesus the child is the reason for the season. So it seems appropriate that we remember not only that child, but all the children of the world who give our lives purpose and meaning. 

In all the glory of God’s creation, children are our shining stars. 

They remind us of our past. 

They bless us with their presence. 

They are our hope for the future, and 

They give us courage to create a better world. 

We thank God for all the children of the world. May they inspire us to create a better world without poverty, hunger, ignorance, prejudice, hatred, and war – as a token of our gratitude to God and, in turn, to them. 

Many children in our community are involved in Room In The Inn - in their congregations and through service at our campus. In fact, some of those who served as young children are now on our staff! Think about how you can plant the seeds of love and service in the young people you know this season. There are ideas and resources, including coloring sheets and grade-specific education materials, available on our website.

Our shining stars, our blessing, and our hope. 

As we remember the Christ Child this Advent, 

Stir in us the courage to create a better world for them: 

A world marked by peace, justice, and love.
