How Do These Programs Help?
|
-
🌱 Beginning Farmer Loan Program (BFLP)
- Helps new Iowa farmers acquire property at reduced interest rates.
- Lenders can often reduce rates by 20–25% using this program.
- 💰 Loan Participation Program (LPP)
- Assists with down payments for land, equipment, livestock, and more.
-
IFA participates on 30% of the project (up to $200,000), reducing lender risk and your interest rate on the down payment portion.
- 🌾 DNR Lease to Beginning Farmer Program
-
Provides land leasing opportunities on DNR-managed wildlife habitat.
- Preference is given to certified beginning farmers.
- 📜 Beginning Farmer Tax Credit Program (BFTC)
- Offers an Iowa income tax credit to asset owners who lease land, equipment, or buildings to beginning farmers.
- Annual application window: January–August 1.
