Question: Are appointments to receive a COVID-19 booster now available?
Answer: Yes, appointments for Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson
COVID-19 vaccine boosters are now available for all students and campus and health employees. Currently, the University of California vaccine mandate does not require the COVID-19 vaccine booster (third shot) as part of being compliant with the mandate.
Question: Are booster shots the same formulation as existing vaccines?
Answer: Yes. COVID-19 booster shots are the same formulation as the current COVID-19 vaccines. However, in the case of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, it is half the dose of the vaccine people get for their initial series.
Question: Can I receive a flu shot on campus?
Answer: Campus members are encouraged to get the flu shot through their primary care provider or through a local pharmacy. Faculty, staff and students who need access to a flu vaccine may also make an appointment on campus through our partnership with UC San Diego Health. To make an appointment, students should go to
MyStudentChart, and employees can visit
flu.ucsd.edu.
