In Case You Missed It

Downward Trend

Thank you to all of our Tritons for your patience, hard work and dedication to helping create and maintain a healthy educational environment for our students and a healthy workplace for our employees. The case positivity rate on campus has dropped significantly, and staffing levels for many of our student services have returned to normal.

Campus Operations Update

Indoor dining has resumed at all HDH dining facilities, Price Center, University Centers and the Faculty Club with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Undergraduate students living in campus-operated housing may return to Phase II, which allows individuals to be unmasked within their residential suite. Masks remain required in all other indoor spaces.

Get Boosted and Get Bucks (There's Still Time!)

In support of the health and well-being of all Tritons, any UC San Diego student who receives and documents their booster dose by March 1st will receive $10 in Triton Cash to be used at any campus vendor that accepts Triton Cash. Students who already have a documented booster will automatically receive the booster bucks.

ZAP Antibody Study Now at Price Center

All UC San Diego students and employees across campus and health sciences are eligible for free testing for Neutralizing Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) in combination with a standard PCR test as part of a voluntary research study. The purpose is to learn whether antibody levels correlate with a person’s risk of contracting the virus. Sign up to participate.

Fans Return to the Stands

It’s time to rev up your Triton spirit and don your blue and gold! Spectators are invited to attend athletic events indoors at RIMAC Arena and outdoors at Canyonview Aquatic Center, Triton Ballpark and Triton Softball Stadium. Fans attending basketball or volleyball matches indoors will need to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test result (within 48 hours of the event) and wear a KN95 mask. See calendar of games.

Your Questions Answered

Question: I am a fully remote student or employee, what are my testing requirements?
Answer: Fully remote students and employees are exempt from asymptomatic campus testing requirements. If you are fully remote but need to come to campus, you are encouraged to conduct a PCR COVID-19 test 48 hours before arriving on campus as well as on the day you arrive. Remember, you are not required to conduct a PCR test if you have had COVID-19 in the last 90 days.
Please visit the Student Testing and Screening or Employee Testing and Screening webpages for more information.
Question: I am a fully remote student – do I need to fill out a Remote Form?
Answer: Yes, students who are not vaccinated or not fully vaccinated who are engaging in fully remote studies should visit the UC San Diego Services and Support portal to fill out a Remote Form. This Remote Form will ensure you remain compliant with the UC COVID-19 vaccination mandate.
If you are a fully vaccinated student, you do not need to complete this form.
Question: My campus card is not functioning at test kit vending machines. What should I do?
Answer: Please review the list of compatible campus ID cards for COVID-19 test kit vending machines. If you do not have one of these cards, you can still schedule a COVID-19 test at the Price Center or one of the Health drive-up locations. You do not need money or a balance on the compatible campus ID card in order to use it for the test kit vending machines.
If you are still encountering issues with your ID card, we recommended that you reach out to the Campus Card Office to look into the issue.
More information is available on the Student Campus Cards and Employee Campus Cards webpages.
