Judge Signs Off on Plains Metro District Lawsuit Settlement

The lawsuit between the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District (KCRMD) and the Plains Metropolitan District (PMD) officially settled today with the judge granting the joint motion for the $3.5 million settlement. The settlement was signed by both parties on April 21 and was submitted to the court on April 24. In full settlement of all claims in the lawsuit related to recreational facilities and to accomplish PMD’s obligation to build and pay for recreational facilities required by the judgment, PMD will pay KCRMD $3.5 million. All such funds shall be used by KCRMD solely for the design and construction of one or more new, refurbished or renovated swimming pools; one or more new, refurbished or renovated tennis courts; or one or more new, refurbished or renovated ball fields. See the Court Documents for details. If you have any questions, contact District Manager Melissa Daruna at melissad@kcranch.org or 303-979-1876, ext. 136.

At its June 20 meeting, the Master Association Board will discuss and vote on a proposed resolution to allow outdoor speakers on properties on Ken-Caryl Ranch. The proposed resolution is: "NOW THEREFORE, Be it RESOLVED by the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association Board of Directors that the use of outdoor speakers on Ken-Caryl Ranch properties is approved as long as they are operated in conformance with the Jefferson County Noise Ordinance." If you have any questions or comments, contact Chris Pacetti at chrisp@kcranch.org or 303-979-1876, ext. 116.
