Turf Aeration & Fertilization |
|
|
|
Please be advised that RVRMA will begin turf plug aeration and fertilization application in the master common areas and privately contracted lawns beginning Monday, April. 1.
Proper turf aeration provides for efficient use of water as it allows for greater penetration of surface applied irrigation water and minimizes surface run-off. Additionally, the aeration allows for the introduction of air into the soil which diminishes compaction and promotes soil health and root growth. If your private yard in the Settlement or Old Town is one that would be aerated, please help the crews by keeping your yard cleared of any debris and especially dog poop!

DRC Improvement Applications |
As is typical this time of year, we are currently seeing an increase in Design Review Requests from the Community. Awning additions, landscape improvements, deck replacements and re-staining of homes are just some of the requests that have come through. Many of these repairs can be approved through a simple Administrative Approval process. More complex projects may require a more formal design review by the DRC. In all cases, we ask that homeowners please fill out and submit a Home Improvement Application form to seek approval before you begin your project.
Please email jessica.hennessy@rvrma.org if you have any questions.

Crystal River Restoration Project
|
The Crystal River Restoration Project has resumed its work this spring. Remaining work includes the interpretive signage design and installation, native plantings and temporary irrigation work. Signage is being designed and will be installed this fall. The team has deferred planting and irrigation work to this spring to give the plants the best opportunity to successfully establish.
Homeowners can expect work to take place through April 12.
*Please note the park will be closed as portions of the work is initiated. No major traffic disruptions are anticipated.

According to the Center for Disease Control, almost 70% of Americans take at least one prescription medicine. What to do with all those used containers? Most are the small, translucent, orange containers that come with a white, child-proof lid. They are made of #5 plastic, which can be recycled by Mountain Waste. But can they be reused or repurposed once clean rather than recycled? Sure. Here are a few ideas for these little containers: - jewelry, makeup, spare buttons, and other knickknacks - shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap for travel - cotton swabs - portable sewing kit - coin holders - earbud holders - and seed storage. So put those old pill bottles to use, and always try to reuse before recycling.
