March 5 – April 6Â
Empty Chrysalises celebrates the innovation and creativity of women artists in dialogue with the exhibition Bold Women. The idea of an empty chrysalis, the hard outer body left behind after a butterfly emerges from its cocoon, symbolizes a transition from life on the ground to life in the sky. This outdoor installation in Marvin Grove features four large chrysalises made from used and recycled everyday objects. The project expands on Bold Women’s themes of transformation and breaking societal constraints.Â

🖇️ Construction and Design Manual Offices
Modern workspaces need to handle organizational complexity while providing the newest technology and equipment. More than that, office buildings are also the architectural calling cards of modern businesses. Transparency, openness, and environmental sensitivity are the qualities required of company headquarters and administrative buildings. In terms of interior design, the corporate image starts with the lobby and its furnishings. Some designs break with the traditional organization of workspaces, others aspire to turn offices into spatial objects, art, and still others rely on the psychology of color or integrate the landscape or cityscape surrounding the building into the design. Thirty cutting-edge examples are presented in this handbook, which features acclaimed office designs from around the world.Â
The Hatch Reading Room will be closed until Monday, March 24.
🌷 ✨ 🌱 Have a safe & fun Spring Break, ArcD!Â
