Northgate Temporary Closure: August 2025

During the rehabilitation work on the Northgate Lions Centre project in 2023-2024, it was discovered that EPCOR had updated the enclosure requirements for the Main Distribution Panel [MDP].
Unfortunately, the lead (order) time on the new panel was 26 weeks and therefore would not arrive until after the main project was completed. The project will require another shut down of the Northgate Lions Recreation Centre to complete the installation of the MDP panel.
What does this mean for NESA?
Operations will continue as scheduled through the end of July.
Temporary Office Location, August 5-25, 2025:
McClure United Church (13708 74 Street)
Hours of Operation
: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.

We’re planning to offer wood carving programs and are looking for gently used tools and supplies to help us get started. If you have any of the following items to spare, we’d love to give them new life in the hands of future carvers.
We're looking for:
  • A working Dremel (rotary-style) tool (flex shaft preferred)
  • Tool bits (1/8" or 3/32")
  • Sandpaper (80 to 400 grit)
  • Files and rasps
  • Wood burners
  • Hardwood scraps or offcuts larger than 2"x4"x6"
If you have something to contribute, please drop it off at the office, or reach out if you have questions. Thank you for supporting hands-on programs in our community!

Attention Classic Car Enthusiasts!

We’re looking for pre-1965 cars, trucks, and motorcycles to feature in our NESA Antique Vehicle Show & Shine on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Northgate Lions Seniors Recreation Centre.

Register your vintage ride and join us for a fun day of live music, a 1950s-themed lunch, and a Rockin’ Sockin’ Silent Auction!

Grocery Gift Cards

Did you know that NESA sells grocery gift cards for Sobeys, Safeway, and Save-On Foods? For every grocery card you buy from NESA, our senior's recreation centre earns a small percentage from each card sale. Those funds then go towards our various seniors fundraising initiatives at NESA.
