Welcome to your second edition of The Navigator! In this newsletter, you’ll get a sneak peek at Hullabaloo Hello, your new student orientation experience. You’ll also meet just a few of the many campus resources here to support your transition to college, including College Advising, the Goldman Center for Student Accessibility, and Campus Services.
All of this and more can be found in the May New Student Module, titled Make Way for Exploration! If you haven’t started this month’s required module, log into Canvas using your Tulane email and password. You can find the module on your Canvas dashboard, and will have until May 31 to complete it.
Please note: All future communications will be sent exclusively to your Tulane email, so be sure to check that inbox regularly.

Housing & Move-In Information:
First-year residential students will be randomly assigned a Move-In day and time slot for either August 10, 11, or 12. Housing & Residence Life will e-mail new students their assigned 30-minute arrival time slot to their Tulane email addresses later in May. Please do not make travel arrangements until you have been assigned your Move-In time slot.
If you have an unavoidable conflict during your time slot, there will be a period when you may cancel your time slot and select a new one from available options in the Housing Portal. More details will be included in the time slot assignment email messages.

The Newcomb-Tulane College Advising team is here to support your academic, career, and personal success through a holistic approach to advising. Throughout your first year at Tulane, you'll be guided by our First-Year Advising team. You’ll be assigned an individual academic advisor by early June. In the meantime, general questions can be sent to advising@tulane.edu.
You’ll schedule your academic advising and course registration meeting at the end of May. Many of your questions will be addressed as you work through the May module, read College Advising emails, and complete the checklist items provided.

The transition from high school to college can be a rewarding but challenging time for many students and their families, and students with disabilities have an extra step to navigate this transition. The Goldman Center for Student Accessibility is here to provide insight, guidance, and information for you at each step of the way. Now that you are committed and confirmed for starting in the fall, you are welcome to apply for disability accommodations.
Students can request accommodations at any time; however, for incoming fall semester students, we recommend beginning the process in the summer well before arriving on campus in August. For more information regarding the accommodations request process and deadlines, please reference the May module or visit the link below!

To support your transition to campus, we've created a "TU Do" list of important tasks to complete throughout the summer. We highly encourage you to review the checklist at the start of each month for a reminder of upcoming tasks and deadlines.

Below are just a few of the action items to complete in May:

Curious who else from your area is headed to Tulane this year? Well, wonder no more by attending a Hello Wave reception for incoming students and families! These in-person events allow you to connect in your hometown with past, current, and future Tulanians before heading to campus.
Many events include Tulane representatives from Newcomb-Tulane College, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations who will be available to answer your questions as you get ready to join the Tulane family. When possible, current Tulane student leaders attend as well to answer your student life questions and more (they're certainly the experts on all things Tulane!).

Hello Wave receptions will take place from mid-June through early August. Check out the complete list and register for a Hello Wave event near you below. More events will be added throughout the summer, so check back later if you don’t see one in your area. We hope to see you there!
