We Live in Unprecedented Times. Or Do We?

The coronavirus challenges our world, but so have previous epidemics: Ebola, SARS, AIDS, the “Spanish Flu,” and the bubonic plague. The world is more closely connected than ever, for good and for bad. But as it has been said, an idea travels faster and is more resilient than a virus. Ideas and knowledge can travel rapidly across the world, spread and grow.

Like all of you, I fervently hope that this pandemic passes quickly with as little harm as possible. I also hope that our knowledge grows quickly and can be shared for the health and welfare of all. Ultimately, education will be our vaccine against the threats to humanity.

Stay safe and well.

John Bartle, CPACS Dean
