Clarice Phelps To Deliver Keynote at Black Girls in S.T.E.A.M Summit |

The Black Girls in S.T.E.A.M Summit is designed to encourage curiosity and inspire young Black women to explore science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.
Clarice Phelps, the keynote speaker this year, is a passionate advocate for STEM. She is the first African American woman to help discover a new element on the periodical table and a she is a Ph.D candidate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Nuclear Engineering.
High School and undergraduates are welcome to attend the summit. Moms are welcome too! Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Researchers in the Divisions of Epidemiology at VUMC and MMC are conducting a new NIH-funded study and would like to invite you to participate!
Adults between the ages of 40 and 70 who live in the southeast U.S. are needed for a new study. Compensation is provided.
The living environment in the southeast U.S. differs from other parts of the country due to climate, industry, and other factors. The goals of the Southern Environmental Health Study are to better understand how the environment we live in and the experiences in our lives may affect our health. By partnering with scientists and healthcare providers across the southeast U.S., we plan to recruit 50,000 study participants. Join today to help us improve the health of your community.
