Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

Our Advent journey continues, and we have some very special services planned as we make our way to the Christmas season. This is a perfect season to invite a friend to join you for worship.

This Sunday, December 10 during our 10:45 am worship service, our 4th grade and under children will lead us in worship as we explore the wisdom of the Christmas story. Parents, please have your children in the Garden room by 9:30 am Sunday so we have time to walk through the service. Children are invited back to the Garden room that evening from 5-7 pm for the Gingerbread Games Christmas party. Dinner will be provided, and parents must stay for the party.

Sunday, December 17 at 10:45 am our choir and handbells will present “The Light of Christmas.” Special thanks to David White and all those working so hard to prepare for this special service. Reminder, MadCAAP Adopt-a-Child gifts are due this day by the end of worship.

Sunday, December 24 we invite you to join us for a service of song, scripture, candles and communion. Our Christmas Eve service will be offered at 10 am and again at 5 pm. Sunday School will not meet. Finally, make sure you note the worship time change for Sunday, December 31. We will worship at 10 am New Year’s Eve, and Sunday School will not meet.

We hope worship at Parkway Hills this Advent season has aided you in reflecting on the gift of Emmanuel, God with us, and we look forward to our continued worship together.

Our Bridge and Youth have been moving through the Exodus story as part of their time together on Sunday mornings so what better way to close it all out than by watching “The Prince of Egypt” together.  Bridge and Youth will join together in the youth room Sunday, December 10 from 5-7 pm to watch the movie and fellowship.  Dinner will be provided and friends are welcome to attend.  As always, it is our adult volunteers that make this happen and we could use some extra volunteers this night as these two groups join together. Let Geoff know ASAP if you can help.

PHUMC Women's Ministry has chosen MadCAAP's Holiday Adopt-A-Child as their winter project. We are currently getting some more angels for the tree in the back of the Worship Center, where you can pick an angel to choose a child to sponsor for Christmas. The information is on the angel for the child's name and gift wishes. Have your gifts wrapped and labeled with the child's name placed beside the tree by the end of Worship service on Sunday, December 17. Gifts will be delivered to MadCAAP on Monday, December 18.

Thanks for all the volunteers that help make our Sunday School activites happen. If you're interested in aiding with our Children's Ministry, please click this link to volunteer.

New Look for Our Electronic Giving Page

Vanco, our eGiving provider, has updated their online giving platform to make it easier than ever to make one-time gifts or set up recurring donations to our church. Click here to see our changes. Nothing about our online giving has changed except the look of the website, and the app has not changed. If you have a recurring payment or previous login account, all that info has been carried over and you don't have to do anything new.

Each month Parkway Hills designates our communion offering to support a need outside of our walls. Our December communion offering goes to assist "Little Light of Mine," a ministry of Methodist Children's Homes of Mississippi.

Methodist Children’s Homes seek to bring restoration to children and youth who have been neglected or abused. By the end of their time with the MCHMS, it is hoped that those children find reconciliation with their biological families, love within an adoptive family or success as productive, independent individuals.

Methodist Children’s Homes have been providing care and love for children and families in Mississippi since 1896. Originally an orphanage, MCHMS has cared for more than 11,000 children for over a century. They have grown from the original location in Water Valley to multiple homes across the state, and the primary campus is now in Jackson. The legacy of Methodist Children’s Homes has always been that of Christ-centered, generous love — something that will never change.
