Reception to Honor and Thank Cathy Robertson!
                                                                                                           May 3, 2017
All men are invited to join us for our Monthly Breakfast Program this Sunday, May 7th, (and the first Sunday of every month), at 7:30 am.  Come share a meal, fellowship, and interesting discussion.
BUNK BED BLITZ!
Next Wednesday Night May 10th at 5:30 pm  After sharing some pizza, drinks and cookies, we"ll get right to work sanding, staining and finishing bunk beds!  Soon, 10 more children will have a safe and comfortable bed of their own.  There is much to do and there is a job for everyone.  Wear old clothes, and come help!
May is Mercy Month!
All this month we will be collecting items to share with the guests of Grace Place. We plan to deliver filled bags early Wednesday morning, May 31st. We are now collecting travel-sized toothpaste, hand sanitizer, dental floss, washcloths, bottled water and nutritious snacks.  NEW THIS YEAR: we are adding repellant for insect protection this summer.  (Grace Place recommends boxes of Deep Woods OFF! Towelettes; they are easy to divide and will go a long way.) For more information on this project, or to volunteer to help, contact Juliet Huam.
We are Easter People!  Through the Easter season, we will celebrate our beautiful new chairs and all they represent with a "second mile" stewardship campaign:  Pull up a Chair!  This week, we 'pull up a chair' for OUR COMMUNITY. (Thanks for your words last Sunday, Chris Gibbs)
We believe in sharing our beautiful church and campus with our neighbors.  That's why Parkway Hills is not just filled on Sundays, but everyday of the week!  Parkway Hills is a warm and inviting place for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Weight Watchers, suicide survivors, cancer support and addiction recovery groups, Kairos training meetings, Methodist Conference and District groups, piano recitals- the list goes on.  Just as these new chairs will enable us to welcome large or small groups well into the future, replenishing our budget positions us to continue to follow God's lead into new opportunities, mission and ministry.  Consider an over-and-above-your-pledge gift of $60 to represent pulling up a chair for a visitor, $240 to welcome a family, or maybe $720 to show some hospitality to an entire row of neighbors!
Help us share the love of Christ with others in our community.

Next week, we 'pull up a chair' for YOU!
Our "HERO CENTRAL" Adventure will take place
May 21st-May 23rd, from 5:30-8:00 pm.
(Dinner will be served from 5:30 - 6:00)
All children who have completed K-4 through 5th grade are encouraged to attend this action-packed super hero training camp where kids discover their strength in God!  We still need volunteers!  Contact Cynthia Gibbs if you'd like to help: gibbsphumc@gmail.com.
