Helping Pilots Prevent Weekly Content to Help Guide UP's COVID-19 Response

Students, Faculty, and Staff in the High and Low Contact Groups: Remember to check your up.edu email on Fridays to find out if you've been selected for a COVID surveillance test. Use the Carbon Health App to schedule your test the following week.
All community members are reminded to wear face masks; avoid social gatherings of more than six (6) people indoors and eight (8) people outdoors; maintain safe physical distancing; and frequently wash or sanitize hands.
Pilots Play: Wellness Day Offers Opportunities for student Self-Care
The Wellness Education & Prevention Program is launching Pilots Play: Wellness Day during the mini-break on February 24. To lure students away from their books and computers, they’ve organized four hours of sometimes silly, sometimes soothing R&R at the Pilot House.

Worth the hurdles: in-person classes successfully resume
Some 990 individual students are taking in-person classes at University of Portland this spring. Clearing the logistical hurdles around testing, distancing, and other safety measures has been worth it, say students and professors.
DASHBOARD
The Pilots Prevent Dashboard tracks all COVID-19 tests conducted on campus. For the week ending February 21, University of Portland conducted 1302 tests. There are currently 11 new positive cases with 15 on-campus students in quarantine and 5 on-campus students in isolation. See the full dashboard.
Vaccination Task Force update
The Vaccination Task Force has added four student representatives to the team: Jillian Maher '21, Chivon Ou '23, Sage Taylor '21, and Allyson Wong '21.
Those who are eligible for vaccination have several options to schedule appointments. Appointments at the Oregon Convention Center Mass Vaccination Clinic can be made at https://covidvaccine.oregon.gov/ through the Vaccine Information Tool, and appointments through OHSU can be made at https://www.ohsu.edu/health/covid-19-vaccines-information-and-appointments for the drive-through vaccination clinic at the Portland Airport Parking Lot. Additional resources, including scheduling by phone, can be attained by dialing the 211 information line anywhere in the state of Oregon.
