Dear Ministry Partner,
On behalf of our entire staff at Future Generation International Missions, we would like to wish you and your family a Happy New Year. This truly is a season for our ministry to pause and give God thanks for all that He has done for us through you! While the country of Haiti was hit significantly by food and fuel outages, school closures, civil unrest, and an overwhelming amount of protesting, our ministry continued to serve the people of Jacmel because of your prayers, timely encouragement, and financial giving.
As I was reflecting on God’s Word about the end of the year, I came upon Psalm 107:8-9 which says, “Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (New International Version). This taught me three things: 1) Always give thanks to the Lord because His love never fails; 2) Only God can satisfy our most basic needs; and 3) Everything that God gives is good.
Ministry Partner, thank you for allowing our community to experience the true love of Christ this year, and thank you for allowing our ministry to witness God’s goodness.
Someone once told me that when it comes to helping Haiti, it seems like every time the country takes one step forward, something happens to set it ten steps back. While I can understand the sense of hopelessness that is found in that statement, my faith in Jesus Christ compels me to remember His promises and His Word. Psalm 10:18 says, “You will hear the cries of the oppressed and the orphans; you will judge in their favor, so that mortal men may cause terror no more” (Good News Translation). This is our hope—that God will raise a future generation who will know Him and will lead Haiti into the greatest and brightest years it has ever known in over 200 years of history.
Even amid the hardships there is great kingdom work being done in Haiti. People are coming to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, lives are being changed, marriages are being strengthened, and disciples are being made.
Therefore, what gives me hope is that I know I am not alone. My challenge to you is to help us get one step closer to our vision of preparing the future generation of leaders in Haiti that will make a Kingdom impact. As you consider the hundreds of ministries who are doing equally good work around the world, we humbly ask you to consider giving to our organization.
May the Lord bless you, and we wish you a very Happy New Year.
In Christ,
Pierre & Lorphine St Louis
