Get Involved in Your Community by
Joining a Committee

Committees are an important part of the administration of the Master Association. Applications are currently being accepted for committee appointments. If you’re interested in helping your community, please apply to serve on one of the Master Association's committees: Architectural, Community Planning, Covenants, Election, Finance, Historical Society or Open Space. Fill out the Committee Application and return it by Friday, Nov. 7. Returning committee members (with the exception of the Historical Society) must reapply annually for committee membership. To learn more about committees, see the Committees & Task Forces page.

Veterans Monument Site May Be Moved

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Veterans Monument Committee is considering a new site on Ken-Caryl Ranch to relocate the proposed Veterans Monument. The current approved location for the monument is at the main entrance to the Ranch House. However, in doing some further investigation for planned construction for the site, the committee has discovered a major utility easement located under the Ranch House site that may render the site unusable for the construction necessary for the monument. As an alternative, the Veterans Monument Committee is considering a site at the Ken-Caryl Ranch Community Park at the southeast corner of Sangre de Cristo and Crestone Mountain. The Board of Directors of the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District is scheduled to discuss this option further in a public meeting at its Oct. 28 Board meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Ranch House. Comments from the community on the new proposed site are welcome and encouraged during this meeting.

Family Fright Night and Haunted Trail

The annual Halloween Haunted Trail event has been expanded this year! The event will be Friday, Oct. 24 from 5-8 p.m. First, come to Dakota Lodge to play spooky games, enter the costume contest, paint a pumpkin, and learn about some creepy creatures that are associated with Halloween. Then take the shuttle to Bradford Park (leaves every 20 minutes) to trick-or-treat at some animal homes throughout the red rocks. After the walk, gather at the Bradford amphitheater for hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows (fire conditions permitting). This fun family Halloween event is for all ages. The cost for residents is $10 per adult, $8 per youth or $30 for a family of four. Non-residents are $12 for adults, $10 for youth or $35 for a family of four.
