AG Jeff Landry announced a settlement with Walmart to to resolve allegations that the company contributed to the opioid addiction crisis by failing to appropriately oversee the dispensing of opioids at its stores. The settlement will provide $3.1 billion nationally to provide treatment and recovery services to people struggling with opioid use disorder. It also includes broad, court-ordered requirements, including robust oversight to prevent fraudulent prescriptions and flag suspicious prescriptions.

Forty states have reached a $391.5 million settlement with Google over the Big Tech Giant's tracking practices. In making the announcement, AG Jeff Landry said that citizens must be able to make informed decisions about what information they release to Big Tech and that Big Tech must recognize the limitations in their collection efforts as it relates to various state laws.
