| David Tanen ’96 Recognized for Commitment to Enhancing the Fordham Law Student Experience in Support of DEIB Efforts
Tanen, co-founder and partner of the venture capital firm Two River and member of the Law School’s Dean’s Planning Council and the University’s Board of Trustees, has given back to his alma mater for nearly 15 years, making numerous philanthropic investments to build more student-centered experiences at the Law School and support the Law School’s diversity efforts. March is Women’s History Month
Women’s History Month kicked off at Fordham Law School on March 7 with Fordham Law Women’s Sixth Annual Symposium. The event featured panels exploring a variety of issues prescient to women in the legal profession, including creating and sustaining diverse workplaces after Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, content creation in the legal profession, and a special collaboration with the Fordham Advocates for Trans* Law Students discussing reproductive and trans* justice.

Professor Aysha Ames, Raissa Ebeh ’25, Nayab Khan ’24, Shivani Parikh ’24, and Abigail Ryckman ’24 were recognized for their “outstanding leadership and contributions to the Fordham community” at the 7th Annual Women’s Herstory Luncheon on the Rose Hill campus on March 7.

Shivani Parikh ’24 was also selected to participate in the Stuart Weitzman and Vital Voices Global Partnership Bold Movers program. Alongside nine other women leaders, Parikh will implement inclusive infrastructure within the workplace, fight for gender-inclusive policies regarding family planning, and cultivate environments of success for caregivers.

| Book Talk: Legal Barbarians and Subjects of Rights: Comparative Law and the Global North and South
On March 6, Professor Daniel Bonilla Maldano offered an unorthodox historical analysis of modern comparative law and its connections with the identity of the modern legal subject, examining the relationship between identity, law, and narrative.

| Four Students Named 2024 NYCBA Diversity Fellows
REAL Scholar Feyisara Idera ’26, REAL Scholar Amy Kong ’26, Jane Sun ’26, and REAL Scholar Jennifer Tiburcio ’26 have been selected to participate in the New York City Bar Association Diversity Fellowship Program. Idera will spend her summer at Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America, Kong at Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt, Sun at BNY Mellon, and Tiburcio at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Save the Date for LGBTQ and Ally Network of Support Training
Hosted every semester by the University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Division for Student Affairs, the LGBTQ and Ally Network of Support training workshop brings Fordham students, faculty, and staff together to explore a variety of concepts connected back to LGBTQ history and allyship. The spring semester workshop will be offered on April 17 at the Lincoln Center campus in a one-day format.
