- Blue Ridge Cabin Home (J. D. Crowe's Break) (I) Watch clip. - A classic Crowe break from The Bluegrass Album.
- Bury Me Beneath The Willow (High Break) (I) Watch clip - This is the high break from the cut that Murphy and I recorded on the Stelling Banjo Anthology CD. It includes two different versions--a roll-based break and a pinch-based break. Pairs nicely with the lesson for the low break that I did last month.
- No Hiding Place (I) - Watch clip. - This is an awesome Earl Scruggs break in the key of E! He didn't record much in E. This is also a great one to learn if you want to explore playing in different positions (like D position) because this break easily transposes into D, or as a high break in G, or even to C position with only a little adaptation.
- No Mother Or Dad (I) Watch clip. - This Earl Scruggs break could not be more perfect. He states the melody elegantly and simply.
- Peach Cobbler (I) Watch clip. - This is an odd little tune that apparently was included in iMovie as music you could use in your movie edits.The tune itself is a bit generic and should be easy to pick up...except for the D lick, which is pretty tricky!
