DARPA AI Forge Program: University Research Capabilities for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategic Thrusts Request for Information (RFI) |
The DARPA AI Forge Program is seeking to identify the Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and research areas of interest of U.S. universities. The program intends to conduct high-impact, fast-paced, university-led, fundamental AI research aimed at solving AI Forge’s "Critical AI Challenges for National Security". AI Forge forum stakeholders will leverage responses to this RFI to establish a repository of U.S. universities aligned and interested in accelerating next-generation AI research to solve critical national security challenges. Stony Brook Research invites your feedback to help shape the university’s institutional response. Your perspective is essential to enhancing our submission, which should reflect the depth, real-world experience, and full breadth of expertise of the Stony Brook research community.
Deadline: Anyone who is interested in providing feedback may add comments in our Request for Internal Comments document by Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 11:59 pm.

2026 Thomas Hartman Center for Parkinson's Research |
Sponsor: Thomas Hartman Center for Parkinson’s Research in the Department of Neurobiology & Behavior
Description: This year, the Center will accept applications for three Seed Awards (up to $25,000 each) to support research into the pathophysiology of Parkinson's disease. These awards are intended to fund innovative, high-risk/high-reward projects that generate the preliminary data needed to compete for larger extramural funding. We encourage applications addressing mechanisms of disease across all levels of analysis — molecular, cellular, circuit, and systems — and welcome projects focused on either motor symptoms or non-motor symptoms (cognitive impairment, autonomic dysfunction, sleep disturbances, and neuropsychiatric manifestations). Projects employing novel experimental approaches, model systems, or conceptual frameworks are particularly encouraged. Interdisciplinary proposals that bridge multiple levels of analysis or integrate clinical and basic science perspectives are also welcome.
Deadline: June 22, 2026
