Congratulations Western Albemarle High School!

The 11th annual Wordplay competition was held on Thursday, April 19 at The Paramount Theater. This year Western Albemarle High School's team, "Best Western", took first place followed by "That's What She Read" in second place, and "Stromberg Certified" in third. Murray High School won for best name, "Murray Murray Off the Wall", and "The Dunlora Forest Rangers", from the Dunlora Forest community, won first place in the costume contest.
We are extremely grateful to the many volunteers and sponsors that made this year's event a wonderful success! Every dollar raised goes directly back into our program so that we can help more adults in our community improve their lives through literacy.

Perry Foundation Grant Enhances New Classrooms

Thanks to the generosity of the Perry Foundation, we were able to furnish our new classroom spaces downstairs with equipment and furniture. The rooms are now comfortable, flexible, and welcoming!
This restricted grant has allowed us to equip the classrooms with updated furniture and technology. However, the grant does not provide needed funds for personnel or overhead expenses. At this time we are seeking donations to help us pay for this new space. Please consider making a contribution to ensure that we can continue to provide additional services to our tutors and students.
