Tri-State Regional Tech Hub Strategy Convening

Held in Chicago May 29

Alliance for Regional Development, CCAC's sister organization, gathered thirty regional leaders from northeast Illinois, southeast Wisconsin and northwest Indiana to discuss strategy to assemble a consortium of organizations for a Tri-State Regional Tech Hub.  Recently announced federal funding -- potentially $75 million over 10 years -- is available from the U.S. Department of Commerce through the Economic Development Agency.
The conversation was wide ranging and concluded with the agreement to investigate the most successful possible approach.  The Chicagoland tri-state region is uniquely positioned to deliver the specific goals of the program and has an excellent shot at success.
Phase one applications are to achieve designation as a Tech Hub, required to be eligible for funding, and to apply for a strategy and planning grant of $500,000 to complete the planning and development of a full Tech Hub program design and grant application.  Phase one applications are due August 14, 2023.
