August 2024 Teacher of the Month
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Jennifer Reyes-Garcia, Fourth grade teacher at Mark Twain Elementary School and Oklahoma City Public Schools District Teacher of the Year for 2024, has been named Teacher of the Month for August 2024.
Jennifer works tirelessly to meet her students’ individual learning needs by differentiating her instruction and working to accommodate their various learning styles. She delivers top-quality classroom instruction, collaborates and plans with teammates, and works with parents and community members. She believes that young lives can be changed when we take the time to truly know them by name and need. Jennifer is extremely passionate about identifying the needs of her students and their families and works to fulfill those needs with the support of district partners like DonorsChoose. She believes her greatest contributions stem from a combination of trusting relationships based on personal connections and high expectations.
Jennifer considers her greatest achievement in education to be the completion of her master’s degree in administration through the OKCPS Foundation’s Aspiring Administrators Pipeline Program.
Jennifer Reyes-Garcia was presented with a certificate of recognition as well as a $500 gift from the Rotary Club 29 Foundation and a $500 gift from the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation in partnership with the American Fidelity Foundation.
