What’s Happening Now
Project work is in full swing, and crews are working hard to improve the Big Dry Creek. Work happening now includes:
- Laying soft-surface paths and pouring concrete trails
- Landscape work and installing irrigation lines
- Planting willow and cottonwood trees
- Drilling and pouring piers for the wetland boardwalk
- Working to complete new bridge installation
- Completing new water quality ponds
In addition to installing the siphon pipe and making repairs to the pedestrian bridge, work planned for the upcoming month includes:
- Removing the detour from the Wadsworth Boulevard underpass
- Installing new traffic safety control at the end of Eaton Street
- Installing a boardwalk and boulders for the planned outdoor education center
- Installing a shelter and kiosk
Work is anticipated to reach substantial completion by September 2025 with vegetation plantings and establishment to follow for at least three additional years. We thank you for your patience as we complete the final phases of the project this spring and summer.
