Road work update through Sept. 11

• Resurfacing from the front gate to the traffic circle is complete, and striping will follow. Operations there are back to normal.

• Work will continue next week on Woodlawn and is expected to progress to Wedgefield the week of Sept. 9.

• Resurfacing on Bellechase/Ravenswood from Burn Court to St. John Court begins Sept. 9. The final surface for Bellechase and Woodlawn (from Bontura to Wedgefield) is expected to be put in place Sept. 10-11. All roadwork is weather dependent.

ATW promises great food, entertainment

And that's just a portion of the entertainment on tap for Dine Around the World at Pecan taking place 4-9 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the Pecan Plantation Clubhouse.

This week, Executive Chef Jordan Ray's specials include a seafood dish so fresh it was swimming around earlier this week.

Ray has created a meal which features macadamia crusted mahi mahi and a seafood velouté sauce on bed of zucchini noodles with cherry tomatoes and onions. It is accompanied with fried potato balls tossed in a red pepper vinaigrette.

His second special is an fantastic bowl of prime rib rigatoni with onions and mushrooms and finished with minced rosemary and a tawny port wine sauce. It will have your tastebuds dancing. Get to the Brazos early for this one... it won't last long!
