[Addiction] is something we are not necessarily completely familiar with . . . unless we have experienced it firsthand. . . . Experiencing is believing, and sometimes not believing. . . . I liken it to the Chinese Finger trap -- the harder we push (punishment and prohibition), the more we get trapped. We have to ease our fingers out, avoiding addiction through bonding and forming connections valuable to us and to those around us.
