WashU Libraries Winter Closure
|
Most WashU Libraries locations will be inaccessible from Saturday, December 21 through Wednesday, January 1. Becker Medical Library, the Brown School Library, and the Law Library will be operating with alternate schedules.

PAD's annual fall dance concert explores the relationship between temporality and dance, posing the question “What is it time for?”—in dance, art, history, culture, and society. Get into the winter holiday spirit and celebrate completing the semester with your 2SAs! We'll have gingerbread houses you can build and decorate, along with tasty winter treats to enjoy.

Be sure to follow the instructions from Residential Life based on your winter break plans. Additional details can be found on the Academic Break Housing Information page. All forms referenced below are available via the WashU Housing Portal on WebSTAC. Registration for winter break opens December 2.
Staying for the entire winter break:
You must complete the Winter Housing Form to maintain access to residential facilities. You will check the box to stay for the entire break once you are inside the form.
Leaving for the entire winter break but returning in the spring semester:
Complete the Winter Checklist before leaving campus. Take your key card so you can return to your room in the spring semester. You may leave your belongings in your room.
Staying for a portion and leaving for the remainder of winter break but returning in the spring semester:
Complete the Winter Housing Form and the Winter Checklist before leaving campus. Take your key card so you can return to your room in the spring semester. You will select a specific departure date once you are inside the form. You may leave your belongings in your room.
Leaving the university permanently or not returning to ResLife Housing in the spring semester:
Complete the checklist items contained on the Check-Out Form via the WashU Housing Portal. You will need to remove your belongings from and clean your room.

Rapid Access Counseling Zoom Appointments
|
All counseling appointments will transition to Rapid Access Counseling Zoom appointments until Thursday, December 19. Using the Student Health Portal, students can schedule appointments beginning 16 hours prior to their desired appointment time.
If you have trouble scheduling, experience an emergency, or have questions, call 314-935-6695 for assistance.

WUSA Applications open January 13! |
Interested in helping welcome the Class of 2029, transfer, or exchange students to WashU next August? Consider applying to be a WUSA! WUSA applications will open on January 13, 2025.
Student Transitions & Engagement will host one virtual and two in-person information sessions to introduce the WUSA role, explain the application and interview process, and answer questions. It is highly recommended that those interested in applying for the WUSA role attend one of the three information sessions:

Are you exploring career options? Consider enrolling in L43 GeSt 2421: Career Exploration at WashU: Understand Yourself & Envision Possibilities for the spring 2025 semester. Offered by the Center for Career Engagement, this new course is perfect for students looking to identify career options, get coaching support, and learn all the resources WashU has to offer.

Get involved on- and off-campus with Campus Y, WashU's largest service organization. Members can assist with youth education and mentoring programs, as well as community wellness programs. Opportunities for leadership development are available, too!

Winter Wonderland: Throughout December (except December 24), 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Whether you are starting a new holiday tradition or continuing a favorite one, the annual Winter Wonderland in Tilles Park is worth a stop. More than a million gleaming bulbs bring displays of festive characters and winter scenes to life, and overhead, a canopy of lights glistens throughout the 75-acre park in St. Louis County. Drive-through tickets can be purchased online; on-site tickets can be purchased with cash only.
- Winterfest: Throughout December; Fridays, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays & Sundays, Noon to 8:00 PM
Gateway Arch Park hosts this winter celebration with fan favorites such as ice skating, s’more stations and igloos positioned under 100,000 twinkling lights. Winterfest continues through the month with holiday-themed karaoke and appearances by princesses and superheroes, while a New Year’s Eve fireworks display marks the end of the festivities.
