Anna Berezhinskiy Drops Off Passengers, Picks Up Spirits
Shuttle drivers are often the first and last impression a PDX traveler has of the airport. Anna Berezhinskiy (she/her), with SP Plus Corporation, knows how important that is and provides friendly, knowledgeable and respectful service to all her passengers. Her welcoming presence earned a glowing comment card:
"I'm a long time PDX flyer. Your economy shuttle driver, Anna, was splendid, cheerful and helpful. She is a credit to your organization, and you should be proud of her. Just thought you all should know. Thank you!"

What's New with PDX Next: Roof On the Move, Impact Updates
Roof Cassette Transport: The first cassette moved across the airfield and slid into place last week. Watch a timelapse of this major milestone.
As we move on to the next cassettes, expect closures to the north bypass on Monday, Sept. 12, from midnight to 4 a.m. Impact to passengers should be minimal, however the Concourse D pet relief area and the restrooms by Gate D2 will be closed during this time. The D2 freight elevator will also be closed and red-badged employees accessing Concourse D will need to use an alternate route – flaggers will be present to redirect employees and passengers.
On Friday, Sept. 16, expect impacts between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m., including the temporary relocation of Delta, American, Frontier and Jet Blue ticket counters to alternative common use counters.
While areas are closed, there may be delays to some parts of a passenger’s travel routine – including waiting for checked luggage and increased traffic on the roadways...and that’s where you come in! By staying on top of what’s going on, you can help inform and reassure PDX travelers.
Roof work is dynamic, so dates and times may shift. Many teams are working hard to ensure there’s signage, extra staff and contingency plans to help with any potential disruptions. This work will continue through October, so keep an eye on this newsletter, the PDX People website and digital signage for the most up-to-date information.

Remembering September 11
Yesterday, representatives from around PDX commemorated Sept. 11, 2001, with a moment of silence led by the TSA and a gathering to honor the day led by the Port of Portland Police.
Governor Kate Brown ordered that flags flying at half-staff at all public institutions throughout Oregon on Sunday, September 11 shall also honor Patriot Day.
"Twenty-one years later, September 11 remains a day we will never forget," said Governor Brown. "In memory of those we lost, we recommit ourselves to building a just, equitable, and peaceful future. I encourage all Oregonians to take a moment to reflect on that day, and to honor all those we lost, as well as the brave first responders and volunteers who saved lives."

PDX in Pictures
Over the next few months, we’ll be moving PDX’s new roof into place overnight, one giant puzzle piece at a time. Here are a few still images from the past few weeks (from left to right, clockwise): The first cassette being transported in the moonlight, the second cassette nearly at its final resting point atop the Y-columns, a member of the Airport Operations team checking out the sunrise and the new roof work and PDX People hard at work ensuring safe travels to the baggage tunnel.
