Welcome to the monthly Office of Postdoctoral Affairs newsletter! We hope you enjoyed your summer and will join us for many of the exciting things we have planned for this upcomong semester.

We are thrilled to annouce the UT Austin Postdoctoral Association (UTPDA). Launching this fall, UTPDA is a postdoc-led organization that supports and represents the postdoctoral community at The University of Texas at Austin. We promote professional development, foster community engagement and advocate for postdoc interests across campus. Through events, workshops and collaborative initiatives, UTPDA helps postdocs grow both personally and professionally during their time at UT Austin. The inaugural leadership of the UT PDA include:

Hosted by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, we invite postdocs to showcase their research, meet other postdoc scholars and faculty mentors and learn how to make the most of the postdoc experience.

The last day to register is August 29, 2025. Registration is open to all postdocs, PIs, University Deans and Department Chairs.

Postdoc Summer Social and Skills Event

Thank you to all who came out to enjoy the Postdoc Summer Social and Skills event on July 31 at the Texas Union. The event was designed to help postdocs recharge, connect and grow in their postdoctoral journey. It was an afternoon of connection and celebration, bringing together postdocs from all departments for a unique blend of networking, professional development and summer fun. Thank you to all the offices who were present and/or facilitated a mini skills workshop.

Also a huge thank you to the UT Austin Postdoctoral Association (UT PDA) for sponsoring this event and we look forward to more social and networking events in the future.
