The next Leaders Association meeting will be Tuesday, September 10. PLEASE make every effort to come to these meetings. It is how we make connections and learn from each other to bring the best programs we can to the young people in our clubs. It connects your local club program to the wider recognition program and opportunities in 4-H.

Youth Development (Cloverbuds/Exploring) Fair Judging Sign-Up
It's time to sign up your Cloverbuds/Explorers for their Face-to-Face judging at this year's Eau Claire County Fair! The youth will meet one on one with a judge to talk about their entries. They bring the entries to the fair with them that day.
Youth Development judging is held in the big white building, Building E, where all the other exhibits are displayed
Judging is Thursday, July 25, from 8:30-4:30. Judging times are in 15 minute increments. You can call Andy at the Extension office (715-839-4712) to schedule a time..

Rabbit Project Workshops
Two Rabbit Project workshops have been scheduled to prepare you and your rabbit for the Eau Claire County Fair. The first is Sunday, June 23 at 2:00 pm, at St.Luke Lutheran Church in Foster (Osseo address, S12680 Coon St., Osseo) This meeting will cover Fair Prep and Showmanship.
The second meeting is Sunday, July 14, at 5:30 pm, at Linda Rauter's house, also an Osseo address, but located in Foster at S12752 Coon St. This meeting will be for nail clipping and ear tattooing.

National 4-H CongressNovember 28-December 3, 2024 Atlanta, GA
For youth currently enrolled in Grades 9-12 (grades 10-13 for the 2024-25 4-H year)
If you are an Eau Claire County youth interested in attending National 4-H Congress, please consider completing a record book and the nomination form in order to receive scholarship funds from the Leaders Association to participate. The award process is open to any Eau Claire County 4-H youth.
Registration is open from June 1-30, 2024 through 4-H Online. National 4-H Congress is a five-day Educational Experience held in Atlanta, GA. Congress is the premiere nation-wide event for 4-Hers to network with others from around the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. While at Congress, 4-Hers engage in leadership, citizenship, global awareness, and inclusion. Highlights include educational workshops, exploring the city, international events, community service, educational tours, and the National Congress Gala. Poultry Fitting & Showing ClinicWednesday, June 26, 6:00-7:30 PM
A poultry fitting and showing clinic will take place on June 26 between 6 PM- 7:30 PM at the Lincoln Town Hall in Fall Creek.
During this time Pullorum Testing will also be offered for all species, excluding Turkeys. See the fair book for turkeys or call Brian @ 715-533-8728. Cost for testing is $1 per bird.
Poultry is Department 7 in the Fair Book and starts on p. 73.

James E. Volbrecht Scholarship Application is Open!
This scholarship is in memorial to James Volbrecht who was a longtime supporter of 4-H and the Eau Claire County Fair. Jim graduated from CVTC with an Ag Mechanics degree in 1984 and he was named Outstanding Young Farmer in 1992. Tragically, Jim died in a farming accident in 2019. This scholarship is given in gratitude for his years of support of young people in Eau Claire County and will honor his memory. This $300 scholarship(s) will be awarded to an active Eau Claire County 4-H or regional FFA member involved in the Eau Claire County Fair (preference will be given to youth involved in the dairy project) who plans to pursue post-secondary education. To apply, complete application by clicking the button below.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 26 and will be awarded at the County Fair Awards Ceremony on Sunday, July 28.

4-H Summer Academy in Madison
4-H Summer Academy will be held June 24-27 at the UW-Madison Campus. It is open to youth in grades 8-11 with leadership opportunities available for 11th grade. Registration opens March 1.
