Stevens Institute of Technology will be closed beginning December 23rd and will reopen on January 2nd. If you wish to meet during the month of January via Zoom, students are welcome to make an appointment with their Academic Advisor here or reach out via email.
The CEOE Center for Student Success wishes you a wonderful break and holiday season. Please continue to monitor your campus email throughout break, as important updates regarding courses, scholarships, internships, events, and more will continue to be sent.
The spring 2024 semester will begin on January 17.

2024 Green Teams Internship Program |
This is a paid 11-week summer internship program hosted at Montclair State University. Students will work on a team to address complex sustainability challenges for companies, non-profits and community organizations over the course of the 11 weeks. NOAA Student Internship Program |
NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) is offering paid summer internships targeted towards current 2nd and 3rd-year undergraduate and enrolled graduate students to work in areas that will provide robust research and/or operational experience that will prepare the student for further study in NOAA fields. This internship program enables the National Weather Service, (NWS), Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Ocean Service (NOS) and Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO) to target the skills needed to fulfill their specific mission needs. Projects may be focused on research areas or the development of operational products such as decision support tools, climate and weather forecast models, population dynamics of fish populations, ecosystem modeling, hydrology, ocean circulation models, unmanned systems (both in air and under water), data analysis methodologies, social science, and strategies to communicate climate and weather information pertaining to NOAA's mission to the public and to stakeholders. WSP Water Resources Internship |
WSP's Water Resources Team is seeking a Water Resources Intern for Summer 2024 to work out of their Morristown office. This temporary position is available to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2024 or later. This is open to civil and environmental engineering students. More information is available here.

Scholarship Opportunities |

NOAA Office of Education Undergraduate Scholarship |
The Hollings Scholarship Program provides successful undergraduate applicants with awards that include academic assistance (up to $9,500 per year) for two years of full-time study and a 10-week, full-time paid ($700/week) internship at a NOAA facility during the summer. The deadline is January 31, 2024. More information is available here.

SMART scholars, through the Department of Defense (DoD), offers scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students currently pursuing a degree in one of the 24 STEM disciplines. SMART scholars receive full tuition, annual stipends, and guaranteed employment with the DoD after graduation. The scholarship is due December 15. Additional information is available here.

Garden Club of America Scholarships |
Multiple scholarships and fellowships available in the areas of environmental science and engineering, botany, conservation, and ocean engineering. Most scholarships are listed with a deadline of February 1. More information and the applications are available here.

Professional Engineers in Construction of New Jersey Scholarship |
The Professional Engineers in Construction of New Jersey is pleased to announce that they will present the 2023-2024 Sol Seid Award for Excellence to a junior civil engineering student. The award will have a value of up to $15,000 to be paid to the student. They will select the awardee(s) from the nominees submitted by each of the seven Universities in New Jersey offering civil engineering degrees.
More information will be sent in January regarding the application process to be nominated by Stevens.

The Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Seminar Series, organized by the MS program in Sustainability Management, is an effort to connect our students to professionals in the field of sustainability. This is a weekly series sponsored by Hugo Neu Corporation and jointly sponsored by Geosyntec Consultants. Cosponsors are Brown and Caldwell, Lozier Inc., The Catalyst Group, and H2M Architects and Engineers. The seminars happen every Tuesday between 5-6pm via Zoom. Save the Date: CEOE Networking Event
|
The goal of the event is to promote networking among CEOE undergraduate students, alumni, industry professionals, faculty, and staff. This event is co-hosted by the Stevens chapters of ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers), SEEPS (Stevens Environmental Engineering Professional Society), SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers) and Chi Epsilon (the Civil Engineering Honors Society).

Naval Engineering junior Cleo Shannon was named to the first team MAC Freedom, All Region IV First Team and AVCA Honor Mention All-American for Women's Volleyball.
Naval Engineering sophomore Vivian Lisboa was named as honorable mention on the MAC Freedom Women's Volleyball All-Conference Team.
