Greetings,

As we approach the holiday season, I am delighted to share an event that embodies the spirit of unity and reflection. On January 11, 2025, Hofstra University will join Mayor Waylyn Hobbs Jr. and the Village of Hempstead for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade and Ceremony, Moving Forward: The Dream Realized. This event honors Dr. King's enduring legacy and reaffirms our commitment to the principles of equality, justice, and community service.

The parade will begin at 9 a.m. in front of the Village Hall, 99 James A. Garner Way, and proceed to the Hofstra University campus. The ceremony and program will be held at the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

This gathering serves as a poignant reminder of the progress we have made and the work that remains. It is an opportunity for us to come together, celebrate our diverse community, and renew our dedication to fostering an inclusive environment. I look forward to seeing you there!

Hofstra University was named one of 2024’s “Most Engaged Campuses for College Student Voting” by the All IN Campus Democracy Challenge. The Hofstra Votes initiative registered students, staff, and community members for the 2024 election throughout the spring and early fall of 2024. Hofstra Hosts 4,000 K-12 Students on Class at the Court Day

The Hofstra University community partnered with the local community on Friday, December 6 for an incredible educational field trip day. The day featured a crowd of more than 4,000 school students with activities centered on health, wellness, and fitness, and a Hofstra men's basketball game against St. Joseph's Long Island. Meet the Interim Deans - Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies
