What will endure when the cataclysm arrives – when the grid fails, society crumbles and we're faced with the task of rebuilding?

Anne Washburn's imaginative dark comedy is an animated exploration of how the pop culture of one era might evolve into the mythology of another.
In Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play, the characters' shared knowledge of The Simpsons theme song becomes a beacon of hope. As time passes, this familiar tune evolves, reflecting the changing landscape of their post-apocalyptic world. From a simple melody to a complex, multi-layered anthem, the music becomes a testament to human resilience and the enduring power of storytelling.
Mr. Burns is a fun standalone production. For a deeper dive into The Simpsons world, consider watching these recommended episodes available on Disney+ and other streaming services beforehand.

A middle-aged couple are playing Scrabble and a young couple are wrapped up in their youthful love for each other. The strange thing is – the two couples seem to take turns in a common conversation while their scrabble score stands at well over a million. It seems they have been waiting for a very long time for something very special to happen.
